Welcome. My name is Christina Danforth. I’ve been in the HR profession for years. I’ve held several different roles in human resources including that of an HR Manager and Generalist. I know the challenge and pain of identifying the right metrics.

This course is designed for HR professionals by an HR professional. The overall goal is to help you develop and use
HR metrics that matter! I’ll start by reviewing a collection of terms and key concepts in the first section. This will set the foundation for the remainder of the lessons. In the second section, I’ll go over the process that’ll help you identify the right HR metrics for your organization. Then, I’ll walk you through a business example in the third section. I’ll conclude with a demo on how to build an HR balanced scorecard and a summary of key takeaways.
 
During the course, especially while reviewing the process and business example, take the time to think through the steps in relation to your organization. This will allow you to start putting these actions into practice.
 
After this course, you will:
Be aware of metric development myths & realities.
Know the distinction between metrics & analytics.
Understand what metrics, key performance indicators and balanced scorecards have to do with each other.
Recognize what’s important to measure for YOUR organization.
Be able to develop an appropriate business metric by following a step-by-step process and
Gain the knowledge to align an HR metric with an organization’s strategic goal to measure achievement.
