Shannon Mashburn MS, SHRM-SCP, SPHR is the President of HR Xpress LLC, a Human Resources consulting firm offering outsourced HR services, training, and legal/compliance guidance to clients across the U.S. Utilizing twenty-five years as an HR executive in corporate roles, Shannon has proven to be an innovator in the Human Resources consulting arena by effectively focusing on compliance requirements for government contractors, banking and financial institutions, health care and manufacturing facilities, and those employers seeking to add or end professional employer organization (PEO) services.
In her most recent role as the Director of Human Resources for Alcott HR, Shannon worked with PEO clients to implement best practice HR procedures and new technology aligned with their organizational goals. Leveraging sixteen years in a series of progressively responsible HR roles with New York Community Bank (NYCB), Shannon has also been a leader in the M&A talent management space, where she directed several operational effectiveness initiatives and assisted NYCB in achieving their status as the 25th largest thrift in the U.S. during her tenure, growing from 800 employees to 4,000 strong with over $49 billion dollars in assets.
Shannon is affiliated with the nationally recognized Society for Human Resource Management, (SHRM) and teaches the SHRM Certification Learning System. As an active member of SHRM since 2004, Shannon is a volunteer on the Workforce Readiness, Certification, and Professional Development Committees.
In 2010 Shannon became a volunteer, and in 2016 a member of the Executive Board, of the Moxxie Mentoring Foundation whose educational and professional development programs provide generational mentoring to women seeking additional tools and training for career advancement.
Shannon obtained a Master of Science degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook in December, 2014 in Human Resource Management, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from SUNY College at Old Westbury in 2002. In 2007 Shannon was qualified by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) as a “Senior Professional in Human Resources” (SPHR) and in 2015 obtained certification from the Society for Human Resource Management as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and continues to maintain these designations through a series of continuing education and reaccreditation programs.
