Did you know, according to the Mayo Clinic, “job burnout” is a “special type of work-related stress, a state of physical or emotional exhaustion”? Although it isn’t a medical diagnosis there are a number of issues associated to this condition and it’s impacting your workplace every day. As HR Pros, it’s important for us to understand the causes and effects of burnout so we can help our management team address it in an effort to reduce it. In addition, we need to consider the impact on our well-being as studies show Human Resources Professionals are also feeling the “burn” of being overworked.

In this previously-recorded event, we first provide a definition of “burnout” including symptoms and ways to identify the problem. We also focus on the stages of burnout. And, finally we discuss what HR can do to not only help themselves but also help their workforce by developing appropriate action plans to address burnout in the workplace.
